NASSA Membership Information $50 PER YEAR
Registration and Membership for Chapters and Individuals
NASSA League / Chapter Membership

Use this page to join NASSA and register your: league, chapter, youth ministry, organization, demo team, instructor program, school group etc.

Duties of Leagues / Chapters to NASSA

  1. Signing up League Members
    1. League Members must sign up by submitting a NASSA membership form.
    2. League Members must pay membership fee, including cost of insurance premiums.
    3. League Members must be amateurs to have valid insurance coverage.
  2. Conditions to being a League Member
    1. Insurance coverage only applies to League activities related to practices, competitions, showcases, and performances.
    2. There is no coverage for League members who are Professionals or Semi-Professionals.
    3. There is no coverage for Special Events that are not hosted or sponsored by NASSA and that are not related to the covered activity.
    4. If a current NASSA league adds an additional league member, he or she must join NASSA and pay membership to have valid coverage immediately.
    5. In the event of an Accident Claim, coverage will only be valid if Claimant is a current NASSA member (listed on NASSA Spreadsheet log, submitted NASSA membership form, and paid NASSA membership fees).
    6. In the event of a claim, the League members must notify NASSA immediately.
    7. All certificates of insurance requests for additional insured’s must be submitted to NASSA. NASSA will then submit the request to its authorized insurance broker to issue the certificates.
    8. Waivers must be signed by all league members in order to have valid coverage. Every League must maintain a waiver system to make sure all members have an updated waiver every year.
    9. All membership premiums paid are fully earned and non-refundable upon payment.
    10. All NASSA League Membership will start the day the membership application has been submitted to NASSA and membership fee, including insurance premiums, have been received by NASSA.
    11. All NASSA League Membership will expire on 12/13/2008 at 12:01A.M. with no pro-rata options.
    12. In the event of a claim occurring outside of the United States, the claim must be filed in the United States.
  3. NASSA league / chapter members must keep a log of all injuries.
    Remember the shortest pencil is better than the longest memory! Waivers must include the following information printed clearly and legibly:
    1. Legal First Name
    2. Legal Last Name
    3. Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
    4. Male or Female
    5. Effective date of membership
    6. Sport Type (Surf, BMX, Inline, Skateboarding)
    7. League / Chapter name

    * Youth = under 18 years old
    Adult = 18 and older

  4. Total membership premiums collected weekly must be delivered to NASSA / SPA by mail or paypal with a copy of the waiver. If you pay by paypal you must email the above information and send hard copies of the waivers to NASSA 2118 wilshire blvd # 622 santa monica ca 90403
  5. Certificate of Insurance Requests and additional insured requests made to NASSA must include:
    1. Name of Certificate Holder
    2. How are they related to League Member
    3. Full Address (including city, state, and zip code) of Certificate Holder
    4. Name and E-mail of individual who is to receive certificate of insurance
    5. If needed, any special wording needed for unique requests
    6. You will get 1 free additional insured – you will be charged $10 for each additional insured
  6. Duty to Stick to Program Contract
    1. NASSA league / chapter must adhere to the Membership Program rules and guidelines
    2. Failure to adhere to the Insurance Program rules and guidelines will void membership coverage for the entire league/ chapter.

You sign up here if you are an individual participating in a league, chapter, event, demo, contest or are an instructor under the NASSA program. Your membership card will be mailed to you in approx 4-6 weeks.

Membership in NASSA is contingent upon members recognizing Skateboarding and Surfing as Hazardous Recreational Activities - HRA

In consideration of being allowed to participate in any way in the program, parks, related events, activities, and all other sanctioned parks and events the undersigned acknowledges, appreciates, and agrees that:

Skateboarding & surfing are dangerous activities that could result in permanent injury or even death. I agree to hold harmless NASSA, Local NASSA chapter, the skatepark / event; their officers, directors, staff, employees and volunteers for injuries that I might sustain while participating in their event or park. I am willing to assume all risks associated with skateboarding & surfing. I understand collisions are an inherent risk of participating in these activities.

I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT, FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS, UNDERSTAND THAT I HAVE GIVEN UP SUBSTANIAL RIGHTS BY SIGNING IT, AND SIGN IT FREELY AND VOLUNTARILY WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT. I attest that I am physically fit and have been trained for this activity. I also waive and release the use of my photograph or likeness for any reason or purpose while participating in NASSA events. I WANT TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS HAZARDOUS SPORT!

I AGREE TO ASSUME FULL RESPOINSIBILTY FOR ALL INJURIES AND MEDICAL EXPENSES INCURED WHILE PARTICIPATING IN ANY NASSA SANCTIONED EVENT.
  I have read the terms of membership and agree to join and hold harmless nassa and members. I will ride at my own risk.
